Seriously, who knew that they would cause me to alternately feel both super excited and super terrified? [CAVEAT: haha, I totally run to the mailbox and eagerly open up the little envelopes. I love receiving them and I feel slightly bad that David doesn't get to experience this since they are all arriving at my house.... hehe.  ehhh, he's a boy and he's working a lot so he probably wouldn't get the crazy GIDDY feeling that I get...muuhahhaha... ]

ANYWAY, excited makes sense but why super terrified? Well, because we invited a lot of people and for some reason, every time I come home, I find out that my mom has sent out more invitations! So, what started off as a maximum number for the reception has started off as a jumping point. I swear, my mom could negotiate candy from a baby. I shake my head... ;)

The fierce Dinosaur was trapped inside his cage of ice. Although it was cold he was happy in there. It was, after all, his cage.

Then along came the Lovely Other Dinosaur.
The Lovely Other Dinosaur melted the Dinosaur’s cage with kind words and loving thoughts.

I like this Dinosaur thought the Lovely Other Dinosaur.
Although he is fierce he is also tender and he is funny.
He is also quite clever though I will not tell him this for now.

I like this Lovely Other Dinosaur, thought the Dinosaur. She is beautiful and she is different and she smells so nice.
She is also a free spirit which is a quality I much admire in a dinosaur.

But he can be so distant and so peculiar at times, thought the Lovely Other Dinosaur.
He is also overly fond of things.
Are all Dinosaurs so overly fond of things?

But her mind skips from here to there so quickly thought the Dinosaur. She is also uncommonly keen on shopping.
Are all Lovely Other Dinosaurs so uncommonly keen on shopping?

I will forgive his peculiarity and his concern for things, thought the Lovely Other Dinosaur. For they are part of what makes him a richly charactered individual.

I will forgive her skipping mind and her fondness for shopping, thought the Dinosaur. For she fills our life with beautiful thoughts and wonderful surprises. Besides, I am not unkeen on shopping either.

Now the Dinosaur and the Lovely Other Dinosaur are old.
Look at them.
Together they stand on the hill telling each other stories and feeling the warmth of the sun on their backs.

And that, my friends, is how it is with love.
Let us all be Dinosaurs and Lovely Other Dinosaurs together.
For the sun is warm.
And the world is a beautiful place.

Visions of Fairies

I am so happy today! Everything is working out well, oh so well, I love my new venue's coordinator. She actually - gasp - responds to emails. She does follow up (wow, what a concept) with third party vendors. and, she's honest (really? holy moly). lol.

Now, finally, wedding planning is getting more fun.

My dear dear friend is getting married this weekend. During her bachelorette party, as we were frolicking around on the dance floor, I kept looking at her and thinking, omg, she's all grown up now and she's going to be someone's wife and have a "mrs." in front of her name and a pretty silver band on her finger and even us... we're all getting old... this is it, our really crazy twenties are over... and I felt a little teary.

*shake shake* Onward.

I've come to realize that whenever I get what I want, I don't want it anymore. No wonder I'm so fickle. Case in point, there's this hair and makeup artist who is supposedly the best in the industry for weddings, and she was all booked up when I check in with her two months ago and now, she's available and wants me to hire her. I'm just like, eh. lol. play hard to get s'more, lady!

So I am looking through the Hollywood Bowl line up for this summer, and thinking, definitely want to take my parents to the fourth of july extravaganza... and then, realized, EEK! I'm going to be a Mrs. in July!  heheheehehhehehehehe. ;)
